of the powers sought for by the Petitioners. If braach
regiat ere of the kind under consideration were opened in
London, stamp duties on transfers of shares on those regi atero
would presumably be payable to His Majesty's Exchequer.
I am accordingly to suggest, subject to the
approval of Lord Cushandun, that before a decision ie taken
on the question raised in this correspondanos, the vims of
the Treasury should be obtained.

been sent to the Colonial office.
